I was reading Brother Cowan's ''History of the Church in the 20th Century". In this work he quotes a takl by Stephen L. Richards, who was a member of the quorum of the twelve and a counselor to David O. McKay, to the effect that people need to understand that there can be honest differences of opinion on political issues, and not all believers will cdome to the same answer on political issues.
This is a point that many people, of multiple political perspectives, especially among the commentators on the Deseret News boards need to recognize.
It is unneccesary and divisiive to refer to politcies you disagree with as "criminal" or the like. It is not either proper or wise to suggest that every member of the Church will vote for the same candidate. I am tired of the false claims that the Church supports a particilar political party, and I am equally tired of the claims that those who vote for certain candidates are out of harmony with the Church.
We need to recognize there are good positions of most political parties, seek for the best candidates, and realize that just because someone comes to a different conclusion on who to vote for does not mean that they are inherently wrong.
