Matthew S. Holland again

For those who remember the post on Holland I made last week, a few important additions and corrections.
My sister Rachel pointed out to me that when she had Dr. Holland in about 2002 he made comments about being a new professor at BYU. On further study I found I had inexplicably confused when he started as a professor at BYU with when he graduated from BYU with his bachelors degree, probably as a result of not fully reading entries in his Vita.
Holland actually became a professor at BYU in 2001. That is the year he received his Ph.D. from Duke University.
Among other past postitions Holland worked as a political consultant to Governor Leavitt. Some people seem to treat this as an example of "choosing him for the wrong reasons". However, since Dr. Holland has emphasized that one of his major pushes will be to build up UVU's endowment, you want someone who is well connected with politics.
However, what really caused me to come and make more coments was this. http://www.freestudies.org/polimage.cfm?doc_Id=22&size_code=Doc It is a protest against the threat to academic freedom embodied in the Human Rights Council of Canada suppresing expression on issues, and among many others Dr. Holland is a signer.
